Some very intriguing parallels here that I also am seeing in society.
At risk of sounding like an idiot, please let me offer a devil's advocate retort: maybe this time it's different?
Broad scientific has been reached. We know that by existing this way is harmful to the earth, and moreover, to our future selves.
We also know that we must change relatively fast. Of course maybe there are extreme pockets and fringes, but maybe this time it's justified to take extreme actions even if there are probably bad outcomes?
Also, regarding nuclear power, I absolutely agree that we need to include it more. But one overlooked fact seems to be dealing with the (eventual) nuclear waste that will occur over time.
Thanks for entertaining my questions. Great job as usual.
Actually, the question is not climate change real or not but the hysteria around the wrong solutions. If it's not real the hysteria is absurd. If it's real the hysteria and wrong decision are dramatic/criminals.
In both case, bad decisions leading to bad outcomes.
Regarding nuclear, waste is a rather overblown concern, but this is actually a topic for a full article :D Most waste are not that critical, and the rare ones that are dangerous for very long can be re-used for energy at 95-99% in surgenerators, a tech from the 70s, a tech the Green movement killed in infancy as well.... The left over is easy to contain and ridiculously small.
Markus
PS: verzeih bitte, ich bin einfach einmal davon ausgegangen, dass du Deutscher bist/ Deutsch sprichst
Thanks for the suggestion, for now I will limit my writing to substack and finmaster, as seeking alpha is asking for unique content which would be a lot more to produce.
For my article, follow me on Twitter, I will from now on be more disciplined and actually linked everything I write there.
I had no idea my Rakuten article ended on Reddit :D Can you send me the link if you have it ?
No problem for the german language, my name make people assume that. Unfortunately it got lost at my grandfather level and I was put to learn Spanish and English at school. I tried to learn German during PhD but never had enough time :(
Thanks for the Reddit, I should probably step up my promoting game with those channels.
I am sometime talking to the value punks guys actually. We apparently overlap regarding Rakuten, inspired by the same sources I think :D They produce great content as well.
I haven't contacted you for a long time now. First of all I would like to thank you again very much for your extraordinarily long and knowledgeable answer regarding my last question (future of oil). You have no idea how much pleasure it gives me to talk about stocks with someone as knowledgeable as you.
I have a small question regarding some stock reviews that you wrote at FinMaster earlier in the year. Will there be any updates to your fundamental analysis of Volkswagen and Bayer? How do you currently feel about these two values? Or to put it another way: is there a way to find out which stocks you find most attractive at the moment and might even buy them yourself? I'm asking because I haven't seen many statements from you about individual values lately on Twitter, nor on your blog outside of the macroeconomic overall analysis number, and I've started to ask myself what you actually find interesting at the moment?

Thanks for clarifying and humoring me 😃
