Regarding YRD and LU. I was looking a few times especially the first one (wasn't aware of the LU EXTRA Divi) but what worries me is the fact that a few years ago Being had done a crackdown on large part of shadow lending, at least on the part facing retail borrowers (because of "usury" problematic ways of pressuring the "late payers" etc).
I am not sure. The whole shadow banking situation is a mess and hard to understand, in part because so many conflicting interests muddy the water with misinformation.
Honestly, I feel it is one that you need to dive a bit blind if you are going to do it, and size the position accordingly. But I feel this way about banks and lender in general, you never really know what skeleton are hidden in the closet, even the more official big banks.
Regarding 6968, no time yet, I will first finish the next report and then see.
I have almost 50% of my portfolio in Chinese companies. Several things incredible cheap:
- LU.NYSE - 0.10x p/b after dividends
- YRD.NYSE - 1.3x P/E, 25% ROE
- 6968.HK - RE Company, 0.05x P/B, 0.3x Net Debt/Equity, 1.7x Current Ratio, Still profitable
- 2198.HK - Chemical company at 1.5x normalized p/e
- JKS. NYSE - Biggest solar panel producer, 2x p/e at normalized margins, growing fast
- 1051.HK - Net Cash 6x bigger than marketcap
- 0489.HK - Big car manufactores, 0.14x P/B, net cash > mktcap
And much more others things like this.
Thanks for sharing the list
I find the Net Cash 6x bigger than marketcap astonishing
Any plan to distribute at least 1/6th of that ? Or is it one of these Asian stock that sit on cash for generations
I had no idea dongfeng has so much net cash, that is amazing as well
I don’t think $1051 are going to distribute the money. But some of them are. Like LU, paying like 55% div yield in June/24
oh wow, what is going on here :D
It seems like tempting to just hope in for the 50% yield and sell post ex-dividend date
Did you check quality of the assets for 6968 ?

Do you happen to know what is the situation now?
